Nagar River

Nagar River is a cross-border river of Bangladesh-India. Nagar river originates in India and enters Bangladesh through Panchagarh district. The river enters Baliadangi upazila through Atwari upazila of Panchagarh district, flows through the western border of Thakurgaon district and finally re-enters India through Haripur upazila. The course of the river has marked the Indo-Bangladesh border for most of the time. Its length in Bangladesh part is about 125 km. The river has some flash flood tendency, but does not cause much erosion. There remains little water in the dry season, but the farmers use the water in the rainy season for irrigation by damming it.

Nagar river is connected with some notable canals namely Tiranai river and Nona river, Yamuna canal and Jalui canal.
