Kamarpukur mass grave, Haripur

During the Great War of Liberation in 1971, the entire Haripur Upazila was turned into a cremation ground and the mass grave of Kamarpukur continues to bear evidence. There was a large pit on the western side of the main road to Kamarpukur where the innocent people were shot and dumped. The dead bodies of hundreds of martyrs who were victims of the brutal killings by the Pakistani invading forces in 1971 are lying under the soil of Kamarpukur mass grave. A visible memorial has been built here with the intervention of the current Bangladesh government and the support of the local administration. The distance of this place from Thakurgaon town is 52.1 Kilometer.
