Khunia Dighi mass grave, Ranisankail

Khunia Dighi situated in Ranisankail Upazila is the largest mass grave of the Great Liberation War in Thakurgaon district. During the liberation war, hundreds of freedom fighters and people with the ideals of the liberation war were brought to the Ranishankail army camp every day. After being brutally tortured and killed there, the dead bodies were thrown into the Khunia Dighi. A memorial was built at that place on Dighi Par in memory of the martyrs. The distance of this place from Thakurgaon town is 44.3 Kilometer.

Khunia Dighi, just six miles south of Ranishankail Upazila Sadar, next to the paved road, is the largest enclosed land in Thakurgaon district during the Great Liberation War. Khunia Dighi with an area of 6 acres. Khunia Dighi was dug by a local zamindar about twenty years ago. Folklore has it that the businessmen of this area used to go to Raiganj to do business by passing the Dighi. The area of Dighi was deserted Changlarkeen. Here a businessman was left on the bank of a lake by a murderer. Then Kheke Dighi's name is Khunia Dighi. He drank the blood of innocent people who killed a large number of people in the Great War of Liberation. Who killed more than 1000 people. Flowers are offered here every year from 16th December to 26th March at 12:01 PM.

You have to come to Ranishankail upazila of Thakurgaon district by bus from Dhaka. Then you can go by bus, microbus, motorcycle, van-rickshaw etc.
