Naming of the district

Name of the source: Nishchintapur to Thakurgaon

'Nishchintapura' - When the name was spoken, the picture of a village village, which was built in the eyes of Nishchinta living in front of the eyes. Or remember that the name of 'Nishchandipur' village of Panchali novel of the path of Bibhutibhushan. But I never remembered the people of the north side of the village of Thakurgaon. Because the name of the name of Anishechtapur of Thakurgaon has been buried in a long time. Thakurgaon was changed to the local favorite city of Nishchintapur to fill the desires of some rich people. And if the word Nishchintapur is pronounced there is no mention of Thakurgaon. But history conscious people still feel the heart of Nishchintapur along with Thakurgaon in the heart of emotion.

There was no authentic proof that Thakurgaon name Nishchintapur was with our hands so far. The name of the mausoleum and the name of the mausoleum was assumed as being Nukchintapur, Thakurgaon was probably once known as Nischintinpur. But due to our presence in a map, it is undoubtedly proved that Thakurgaon's original name was 'Nishchintapur'. There are two separate places named Atitkurgaon and Nishchintpur which have been shown in the area adjacent to the map of 17th century Kochbihar. The eastern end of Tanganni has been shown at Nishchintpur and it is partly on the west side of the Tangan river in the north-west. Thakurgaon has been shown from 4th to 4th. It clearly shows that after the name of Thakurgaon the name of the sadar was named after Nishchinpura on the eastern end of the Tangan river. And through this, the city of Nashik converted into Thakurgaon. Initially the whole subdivision is known as Thathakuranga and later in the continuation of the identity of the district Thakurgaon.

What has been found about the history of Thakurgaon is now, which is the district headquarters, where the office-court of the district is situated 8 kilometers north of Akecha Union, there are two brothers named Narayan Chakraborty and Satish Chakraborti. Because of wealth and influence, they were very familiar in the area. The people used to call that Chakrabarti house as Thakurbari. Later, locals started this place from Thakurbari to Thakurgaon. Chakrabarti Babura felt the need to establish a police station here. Their request was filed to the British government to establish a police station there. A police station was established in the early 1800s. The name was given to Thakurgaon thana. Later, Thakurgaon thana was shifted to Tangon river due to various reasons. Thakurgaon subdivision was formed in 1860 with 10 thanas on this thana. There were 5 thanai of present-day district of the Thakurgaon sub-division. The name of Thakurgaon with 5 thana on 1st February, 1984 is marked on the map of Bangladesh, in the district. Although new to the district, as a populace, there is an ancient history of the region.
