Details

This mosque is located in Sangaon village of Duosuo Union No. 5, 02 km north of Kalmegh Hat of Baliadangi Upazila. It is not possible to know the exact history of the mosque and even it is not clear which ancient period the mosque was built. It is believed that this mosque was built during the time of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam to preach religion and perform prayers. The mosque has 3 domes and 3 doors. The mosque had portraits of various designs on terracotta plaques, which are now almost extinct. There is a paved well on the south side of the mosque. The surface of the well is engraved with indistinct Bengali script of burnt clay. On the east side of the mosque is the tomb of "Sudhibad Pir". It is known to the locals that "Sudhibad Pir" came to this area to practice and preach religion, but no one understands from which country he traveled to this area. After Pir Saheb's death, his body was buried on the east side of the mosque.

The claims of the local residents can be preserved by constructing similar buildings with the help of the Archeology Department. The mosque is well-preserved but still protected and regular prayers are offered in the mosque.
