Details

This dighi was excavated in three stages from 1746 AD to 1750 AD in the early Mughal period. This Dighi has 4 ghats on four sides. The southern ghat of the dighi had a temple of copper idols named Tamlai Dighi after the copper. King Udranath's successor dug this lake. This Tamlai Dighi is located in Mallikpur Ward of Daulatpur Union, Pirganj Upazila, 35 km south of Thakurgaon. This huge lake is spread over about 120 bighas of land. From ancient times, people from far and wide come to visit this Dighi. It is now artificially enhanced for visitors. Tourists come to see this lake. The distance of this place from Thakurgaon town is 37.5 Kilometer.
